Hypnotherapy for Emotional Health and Healing

Hypnotherapy for emotional health and healing

Hypnotherapy is one of the most profound, impactful, yet gentle mind-body-spirit tools I've come across for emotional healing and release.

Before my first personal experience with hypnotherapy, though, I knew practically nothing about hypnosis except what I'd seen on TV shows.

My dad told me that people who could be hypnotised were weak-minded, and that I should be careful not to let anyone control my thoughts.

Hypnosis still carries this stigma (thanks, stage shows!), yet my own opinion is quite the opposite now.

Hypnotherapy is not only powerful, it's a very compassionate tool when used by the right person in the right way. It can be used to help clients gain insight into their way of showing up in the world; to heal past relationships; to go from anxious and stressed to cool, calm and confident; to feel positive and motivated about the future; and to release emotional tension that they may or may not have realised they were carrying.

Every individual I've worked with (including myself!) has experienced an emotional release in the form of tears at some point during their hypnotherapy session. What's interesting to me is the range of emotions that are released this way. For example, they can be:

– tears of a new realisation
– tears of pain release
– tears of energetically healing a relationship
– tears of feeling comforted
– tears of resolution
– tears of feeling acknowledged
– tears of pride and possibility

While I know clients will most likely cry at some point, the fascinating thing is that I never know when!

✶ Some people cry when they get to release past emotional hurt.
✶ Some people cry when they are guided to feel a huge bubble of love.
✶ Some people cry when they finally get to express their true feelings to someone from their past.
✶ Some people cry when they get a realisation about how or why they've been subconsciously blocking themselves from getting what they want.
✶ Last week a client cried with gratitude and pride about her future.
✶ This week a client cried when she felt such a huge power emanating from her higher self.

Me, I usually shed a tear every time I meet my child self or inner child – she's so small, sweet and innocent that I just want to scoop her up in my arms and shower her with love!

All of this is a world away from staged hypnosis shows that get people walking around like chickens.

I feel blessed and very in touch with a greater power when I use intuitive energy to channel healing and guidance, and provide a safe, caring container for the beautiful human in front of me.

I am humbled to have hypnotherapy as my business partner. It feels as if we're a match made in heaven.
