Inner vs. Outer Confidence
I pretty much always knew what public confidence felt like. I did my first ballet solo on stage at the tender age of five, and from then on, dance performances, kung fu demonstrations and music recitals were part of my childhood and adolescence. I won the prize for best speech in my school when I was 11, and was consistently voted best speaker in my college debating team (even though debating actually stressed me out). Professionally, I've been a teacher, group fitness instructor and university lecturer, among other roles.
In short, I thought I had confidence SORTED!
But the raw truth is, when I didn't have a role to play (i.e. a 'mask' to wear, or in other words hide behind), I could be awkwardly shy as a normal human. As much as I wanted to, I didn't really know how to connect well with people beyond a friendly, superficial level.
I was also deeply afraid of potential criticism, which exacerbated my perfectionist tendencies and made me rather sensitive to being judged (though I *always* kept my hurt private!).
Now I know that when you have genuine inner confidence:
⭐ You understand deeply that you are enough just as you are.
⭐ You feel true self-worth, self-love and self-esteem wherever you are in your life, health or business/career journey.
⭐ You accept your faults and mistakes and release self-criticism, knowing that we are all perfectly imperfect human beings.
⭐ You know you are worthy of whatever you want in life.
⭐ You become fearlessly visible and magnetic in your life and business/career.
⭐ You are no longer affected by what others think of you.
⭐ You can release perfectionism and over-giving, knowing that it's not your job to please others, but simply to love or serve them with healthy boundaries.
My own personal transformation by doing the deep inner work and healing in this area showed me how much MORE wonderful and fulfilling life can be when you can truly connect with yourself and others without needing to pretend or hide anything.
That means having the heart and courage to be vulnerable, to be authentically visible as the raw me, to be okay with not having everything all sorted out, to let people see the messy process and not just the polished final product, and basically just be an ordinary human learning about life and myself every day, rather than trying to appear like an invincible super heroine.
I’m now honoured to help other heart-centred women unlock their own inner confidence through releasing the energetic and emotional baggage weighing them down, so that they can really live life FULLY and surge towards their goals without holding themselves back or worrying about what others might think.
